When I was young, I always thought the best way to process my emotions was to push people away.
Growing up in a family that doesn’t share about their feelings openly is tough, especially when life has thrown chaos into your childhood. While I push my brother away at times, he tries his best to understand the complexities of my patterns by watching out and giving me space to heal.
Sharing the struggles we go through to others is tough. It takes time and trust. But, once that safe space has been found, no matter what the weather may be like, our friends will be there to hold us through.
This dancer doesn’t just symbolise grace but a celebration. A day a friend and I amended bonds by laying out our feelings and rectifying mistakes. A photograph to immortalise a heartfelt moment of processing emotions at our own pace.
